GEDRAGSKODE
Leerders met verkeerde skooldrag en sonder ‘n skooldagboek kan gevra word om die terrein te verlaat. Herhaaldelike oortreding van die gedragskode kan lei tot ‘n direkte dissiplinêre verhoor.
A. PERSOONLIKE VOORKOMS EN HOUDING
- Wintersdrag: 1 Mei - 31 Augustus.
- Leerders se klere, sowel as hulle persoon, moet te alle tye netjies en skoon wees.
- Leerders mag nie die skoolterrein verlaat, tensy hulle behoorlik geklee is nie, hetsy in
skool- of sportdrag.
- Skooldrag moet met alle skoolfunksies gedra word, behalwe waar anders deur die
skoolhoof bepaal is.
- Alle reëls geld by alle skoolfunksies asook ná skool waar die leerders nog in hul
skooldrag geklee is.
- Ons behou ons die reg voor om enige skoolreël te verander indien die leerders
nie netjies lyk nie.
- ‘n Ondersteunershemp met koningsblou kant onderhempie en donkerblou lang
denim met toe skoene mag op die dae soos deur skoolhoof besluit, gedra word.
Geen plakkies word toegelaat nie.
GEEN ANDER BAADJIES OF TRUIE, BEHALWE SOOS BY SKOOLDRAG UITEENGESIT, MAG OOIT GEDRA WORD NIE.
Geen kledingstuk waarop die skoolwapen verskyn, mag aan enigiemand anders (behalwe bloedverwante, ander voltydse leerders van die skool of die skool se klerebank) verkoop of geskenk word nie. Hierdie klere en kleure is ons trots en dit mag nie in verkeerde hande
beland nie.
SEUNS
1 Hemp :
(a) Wit, kortmou skoolhemp met skoolwapen, met of sonder ‘n skooldas.
(b) Standaard wit langmouhemp met `n boordjie, met `n skooldas en ‘n baadjie.
(c) As `n kortmouhemp onder `n baadjie gedra word, moet ‘n das gedra word.
(d) Geen hemp mag uithang nie.
(e) ‘n Wit T-hemp sonder enige drukwerk, mag onder ‘n skoolhemp gedra word.
2 Das :
(a) Die voorgeskrewe gestreepte das is verpligtend vir alle leerders.
(b) Vanaf graad 9 mag slegs dié leerders wat kleure ontvang het, die effeblou das dra.
3 Broek :
(a) Standaard grys kortbroek.(Nie afgesnyde langbroek nie.)
(b) Indien so verkies, mag ‘n standaard grys langbroek, waarvan die pyp minstens
40cm in omtrek moet wees, gedra word.
(c) Slegs ‘n swart gordel met ‘n klein gespe moet gedra word. Die dra van `n
gordel is verpligtend. Geen ornamentele gespes of ander versierings op gordels nie.
(d) “Boxer Shorts” mag nie sigbaar wees nie.
(e) Broeke moet met die gordel bokant die heupe vasgemaak word.
4 Skoene :
(a) Slegs swart leerskoene.(Seemsleerskoene word nie toegelaat nie).
(b) Geen modeskoene, bv. platform en skerpuntskoene, word toegelaat nie.
(c) Geen tekkies/sneakers/trainers word toegelaat nie.
(d) “Slip ons” moet ‘n duidelike hak hê. Wighakke is ontoelaatbaar.
5 Kouse :
(a) By ‘n kortbroek moet lang, grys skoolkouse gedra word
(b) By ‘n langbroek moet grys skoolkouse gedra word - geen ander kleur word toegelaat
nie.
6 Trui :
(a) ‘n Moulose skool-”pullover” moet met die wit, kortmouhemp, met of sonder das, gedra
word.
(b) Die langmouskooltrui moet met ‘n das en baadjie gedra word.
Geen moue van ‘n trui mag opgestoot word nie. Indien die trui alleen
gedra word, sal dit gekonfiskeer word.
7 Kleurbaadjie :
(a) Behalwe vir die Bestuurspan, is die dra van ‘n skoolbaadjie in die somer nie verpligtend
nie.
(b) Dis skoolwapen op die sak is verpligtend.
(c) As ‘n baadjie gedra word, moet ‘n das gedra word.
(d) ‘n Spesiale wit baadjie mag deur die voorsitters van die bestuurspan, VLR en leerders wat
in ‘n skoolaktiwiteit nasionale kleure verwerf het, op Vrydae en spesiale geleenthede
gedra word.
(e) Geen ander aansteekwapens as deur die skool toegelaat, is toelaatbaar nie.
Slegs leerders wat provinsiale of nasionale aansteekwapens ontvang het, mag, met
toestemming, so iets dra. So ‘n wapen moet verwerf word.
8 Sportdrag :
(a) Atletiek: Volledige sweetpak na deelname.
Netbal & Hokkie: Volledige sweetpak/skoolklere na deelname.
Rugby: Volledige skoolklere na deelname.
Krieket: Skoolbaadjie saam met krieketdrag na deelname.
(b) Slegs erkende eerstespanbaadjies mag op ‘n Vrydag in die seisoen deur sportspanne
gedra word. Spesiale sportdasse mag slegs op Vrydae in die betrokke seisoen gedra
word.
(c) Wedstryde gedurende die week: leerders verklee eers na skool.
HARE
(a) Geen “steps” is toelaatbaar nie.(Geen duidelike lyn toelaatbaar nie).
(b) Geen “undercuts” word toegelaat nie.
(c) Niks minder as ‘n nommer 2-lemmetjie mag gebruik word om hare mee te skeer nie.
(d) Indien die hare reguit getrek word, mag dit nie laer as die wenkbroue of oor die ore
hang nie.
(e) “Sidies” mag nie langer as die middelknoppie van die oor wees nie.
(f) Hare mag nie agtertoe “gejel” of “gemousse” word om té lang hare te versteek nie.
(g) Hare mag nie gekleur word nie – geen “High-lights” of “Low-lights” nie.
Indien dit wel gedoen word, moet dit met ‘n nommer 2- lemmetjie geskeer
en so gehou word, totdat dit reg is.
(h) Geen verlengstukke mag gedra word nie.
(i) Geen “dreadlocks”, “pineapple ponies”, of enige ander styl wat die hare onnatuurlik
regop laat staan, is toelaatbaar nie.
(j) “Spikes” mag nie langer as 3cm wees nie en Plaits” mag nie ‘n “stertjie” hê nie.
(k) Haarknippies word nie toegelaat nie.
(l) Geen “Mohawk” / Mullet word toegelaat nie.
(m) Patrone mag nie in hare ingesny word nie.
(n) Geen uitspattige haarstyle is toelaatbaar nie.
(o) Hare mag nie aan die kraag raak nie.
ALGEMEEN
(a) Naels moet netjies, kort, en versorg wees.
(b) Slegs horlosies (van enige soort) word toegelaat – geen juwele word ooit toegelaat
nie (Ook nie tydens civvie-dae, eksamens of enige skoolfunksies nie.)
(c) Hemde moet te alle tye ingesteek wees.
(d) Alle seuns moet geskeer wees. Geen baarde of snorre word toegelaat nie.
(e) Geen gaatjies vir enige juweliersware (insluitende tongringe) mag op enige plek in
die gesig wees of aangebring word nie.
(f) Geen oor-, tong- en neusringe mag gedra word nie.
(g) Geen “tattoos” word toegelaat nie en indien `n leerder wel ‘n tattoo het, mag dit
nie sigbaar wees nie.
(h) Geen grimering of haarknippies word toeglaat nie.
(i) Seuns mag onder geen omstandighede soos meisies aantrek nie.
SKOOLTASSE
(a) Graffiti en plakkers word nie op tasse toegelaat nie.
(b) Skooltasse moet groot genoeg wees sodat die nodige boeke vir ‘n dag inpas.
(c) Tradisionele skooltasse word aanbeveel – modetasse word ten sterkste afgekeur.
(d) Tasse moet versterk wees om boeke te beskerm.
DOGTERS
1. Rok :
(a) Koningsblou skoolrok.
(b) Lengte van rok: 15cm vanaf grond, gemeet in ‘n knielende houding.
(c) Die skoolrok mag nie nouer gemaak word nie.
(d) Geen spelde / belde mag gebruik word om die rokke korter te maak nie.
(e) Rompies is nie toelaatbaar nie.
2. Bloes :
(a) Wit, kortmoubloes met ‘n oopslaankraag.
(b) Standaard wit langmouhemp met ‘n das en swart balletkouse moet saam met ‘n
baadjie gedra word.
(c) Geen hemp mag uithang nie.
(d) Die skoolhemp mag nie oor die rok gedra word nie.
3 Das :
(a) Die voorgeskrewe, gestreepte das is verpligtend vir alle leerders.
(b) Vanaf graad 9 mag slegs dié leerders wat kleure ontvang het, die effeblou das dra.
4 Langbroek :
(a) Standaard grys langbroek. Geen “hipsters” mag gedra word nie.
(b) As ‘n langbroek gedra word, moet die skool-“pullover” TE ALLE TYE gedra word.
(c) Slegs standaard grys sokkies saam met langbroek.
(d) Geen gordel mag gedra word nie.
5 Skoene :
(a) Slegs swart toerygskoene, gespeskoene of “Baby Dolls”.
(b) Geen modeskoene, bv. balletskoene/“pumps”, word toegelaat nie.
(c) Slegs skoolskoene van gesondheidsmake mag gedra word.
6 Kouse :
(a) By die rok: wit sokkies wat omgevou moet word.
(b) Wanneer ‘n dogter swart balletkouse dra, moet sy ‘n baadjie en ‘n das daarby
dra. ‘n Dogter mag nie ‘n kortmouhemp saam met swart balletkouse dra nie.
Geen swart kouse mag gedurende die somerseisoen gedra word nie. Geen
gewone sykouse mag by die rok gedra word nie.
(c) By die langbroek: standaard grys kouse/sokkies. Geen wit of gekleurde kouse word
toegelaat nie.
7 Kleurbaadjie :
(a) Vir Bestuurspanlede, is die dra van ‘n skoolbaadjie op Vrydae verpligtend.
(b) Die skoolwapen op die sak is verpligtend.
(c) ‘n Spesiale wit baadjie mag deur die Voorsitters van die Bestuurspan, VLR-lede en leerders, wat in ‘n skoolaktiwiteit nasionale kleure verwerf het, op Vrydae en spesiale geleenthede gedra word.
(d) Geen ander aansteekwapens as deur die skool voorgeskryf, word toegelaat nie.
Slegs leerders wat provinsiale of nasionale aansteekwapens ontvang het, mag,
met toestemming, so iets dra. So ‘n wapen moet verwerf word.
8 Trui :
(a) ‘n Skool -“pullover” (oortrektrui) mag met die wit kortmoubloes, sonder `n das,
gedra word.
(b) Die langmouskooltrui mag slegs met ‘n baadjie en das gedra word. Geen moue
van ‘n trui of baadjie mag opgestoot word nie. Indien die trui alleen gedra word,
sal dit gekonfiskeer word.
9 Sportdrag :
(a) Atletiek: Volledige sweetpak na deelname.
Netbal & Hokkie: Volledige sweetpak/skoolklere na deelname.
Rugby: Volledige skoolklere na deelname.
Krieket: Skoolbaadjie saam met krieketdrag na deelname.
(b) Slegs ‘n sport-/sweetpakbaadjie met ‘n wapen mag op ‘n Vrydag deur leerders wat
provinsiale kleure of hoër verwerf het, gedra word.
(c) Slegs erkende eerstespanbaadjies of eerstespan-sweetpakbaadjies mag op ‘n Vrydag deur
sportspanne gedra word.
(d) Wedstryde gedurende die week: leerders verklee eers na skool.
TYDENS ENIGE SKOOLTOER OF KAMP GELD DIE GEDRAGSKODE EN STRAFSTELSEL.
HARE
(a) Geen “undercuts” word toegelaat nie.
(b) Niks minder as ‘n nommer 3 – lemmetjie mag gebruik word om hare te skeer nie.
(c) Lang hare en hare wat aan die onderste gedeelte van die omvou van die hemp se
kraag raak, moet teen die kop met ‘n rekkie vasgebind word. (Geen kraaineste nie)
(d) Kuiwe mag nie in die oë hang nie.
(e) As die kuif uitgegroei word, moet dit weg van die gesig vasgemaak word.
(f) Haarversierings mag slegs in skoolkleure wees (Kopbande uitgesluit - slegs koningsblou).
(g) Hare mag nie gekleur, getint of gebleik word nie. (Geen “high-lights” of “low-lights” nie.)
Indien dit wel gebeur, moet die hare teruggekleur word na die natuurlike kleur.
(h) Verlengstukke, met dieselfde kleur as die hare, is toelaatbaar. Dieselfde reëls geld
egter hier soos vir lang hare.
(i) Geen “dreadlocks” of “pineapple ponies” word toegelaat nie. “Spikes” mag nie langer as
3cm wees nie.
(j) Hare moet uit die gesig vasgesteek word.
NAELS
(a) Naels mag nie oorsteek as daar van die handpalmkant gekyk word nie.
(b) Kleurlose naellak mag gedra word (“Pearly” naellak is verbode).
(c) Bestuurspanlede het die reg om leerders te beveel om hul naels te knip en om gekleurde
naellak te verwyder.
(d) “Gel”, “tips” of “French manicure” word nie toegelaat nie.
GRIMERING
GEEN Grimering mag met skooldrag gedra word nie.
Dit sal in die teenwoordigheid van ‘n personeellid deur die leerder self verwyder word.
GEEN permanente grimering is toelaatbaar nie.
GEEN gekleurde / blink “Lip Ice” is toelaatbaar nie.
GEEN “tattoos” word toegelaat nie en indien `n leerder wel ‘n tattoo het, mag dit
nie sigbaar wees nie.
GEEN vals oogwimpers nie.
JUWELE
1. Ringe :
Slegs EEN seëlring word toegelaat.
2. Oorbelle :
(a) Slegs EEN paar identiese oorbelle mag gedra word.
(b) Die oorbelle moet in die middel van die oorlob gedra word.
(c) Slegs “studs” sonder steentjies mag gedra word. Slegs die wat gebruik word om
gaatjies in te skiet - geen ronde balletjies nie.
(d) Gladde “sleepers”, sonder versierings, met `n deursnee van 13mm moet gedra
word (standaardgrootte). Geen breë “sleepers” mag gedra word nie.
3. Horlosies :
Slegs standaard armhorlosies.
4. Geen ander juwele soos hangertjies, armbande, leertoutjies, ens. is toelaatbaar nie.
5. Geen gaatjies vir enige juweliersware (insluitend tongringe) mag op enige plek in die gesig wees of aangebring word nie.
6. CIVVIE-DAE :
(a) Geen deurskynende klere nie.
(b) Geen spaghetti –bandjie toppies nie.
(c) Geen oop & kaal mae nie.
(d) Geen kaal rûe nie.
(e) Geen kort minirompies/broekies nie.
B. ALGEMENE GEDRAG
DIE TALE VAN KOMMUNIKASIE BY DIE SKOOL IS SLEGS AFRIKAANS EN ENGELS
SKOOLFUNKSIES EN ANDER OPENBARE BYEENKOMSTE
DIE GEDRAGSKODE DIEN ALREEDS AS ‘N WAARSKUWING, DUS KAN STRAFPUNTE GEHEF WORD SONDER VOORAF WAARSKUWING. TYDENS ENIGE SKOOLTOER OF KAMP GELD DIE GEDRAGSKODE EN STRAFSTELSEL.
(a) Daar word van leerders verwag om lojaal te wees en skoolfunksies by te woon.
(b) Daar word van leerders verwag om hoflik en vriendelik teenoor besoekers te wees.
(c) Leerders mag hulle nooit skuldig maak aan wangedrag binne of buite die skoolterrein nie.
(d) Die skoolterrein, busse en openbare plekke moet in ‘n skoon en netjiese toestand gelaat
word.
(e) Oorringe en ander juwele (kyk kleredrag) is altyd vir seuns verbode.
ALGEMEEN
(a) Sigarette, drank, dwelmmiddels, of enige vorm daarvan, en pornografiese
materiaal is verbode vir alle leerders en besoekers aan die skool. As sigarette of
‘n sigaretaansteker by ‘n leerder aangetref word, word dit beskou dat hy / sy wel
rook. Indien ‘n leerder betrap word met enige van bogenoemde in sy / haar besit
of dit gebruik, sal daar swaar strafmaatreëls toegepas word. Om enige van
bogenoemde na skoolure in skooldrag te gebruik is ook ‘n oortreding.
(b) Vryery of enige fisiese kontak (bv. handevashou, omhels, soen, ens.)
tussen leerders op die skoolterrein, of in die openbaar met skooldrag aan,
is verbode.
(c) Suiwer taalgebruik word van alle leerders verwag. Kru taalgebruik word nie toegelaat nie.
(d) Seuns mag glad nie met hulle hande in hul broeksakke staan of loop nie.
(e) Hemde moet ingesteek wees.
(f) Onderwysers en die Bestuurspan moet te alle tye met respek behandel word.
(g) Rassistiese of kwetsende opmerkings teenoor personeel of medeleerders asook
aanranding, bakleiery, intimidasie en dreigemente (Fisies/verbaal) is ontoelaatbaar.
(h) Selfone/elektroniese apparaat/MP3/MP4 of IPOD’s mag glad nie op die skoolgronde
sigbaar wees nie, behalwe pouse en na skool. Dit moet te alle tye afgeskakel en
weggepak wees. Leerders wat nie hieraan gehoor gee nie, se selfone sal
gekonfiskeer word en in die kluis vir 3 weke bewaar word. Herhaaldelike
oortreding kan tot die ontneming van die voorreg lei.
(i) Geen elektroniese speelgoed word by die skool toegelaat nie. Leerders
mag geen sagteware/ speletjies op die skoolrekenaars laai nie.
(j) Geen troeteldiere word by die skool toegelaat nie.
(k) Duimgooi deur leerders in skooldrag is verbode.
(l) Slegs voertuie van leerders wat `n lisensie en parkeerskyfie het, mag in die hok
geparkeer word en dan word die onderste hek in Bodminweg gebruik. Indien ‘n leerder
laat is, moet daar buite die skoolgronde parkeer word.
(m) Geen leerder mag met enige fiets of motorfiets op die skoolterrein ry nie.
(n) Geen fietse of motorfietse mag in Cradockstraat ry nie. Slegs die boonste hek naby
Somersetstraat mag gebruik word.
(o) Fietse, asook motorfietse, moet in die fietsloods vasgesluit word en direk na skool
verwyder word.
(p) Ouers word versoek om leerders nie op die terrein of in die eerste hek af of op te laai nie.
(q) Indien ‘n leerder die hoof of een van die adjunkhoofde moet spreek, mag dit alleenlik
gedurende pouses geskied.
(r) Wanneer ‘n leerder laat by die skool aankom, moet hy / sy dadelik na Kamer 20 gaan om
mev. du Preez te laat weet dat hy/sy by die skool is.
(s) Indien ‘n leerder die skool vroeg moet verlaat, moet ‘n skriftelike versoek van een van die
ouers, by kamer 20 ingehandig word. Ons ontmoedig egter dokters- en tandartsafsprake
tydens skoolure. Die leerder moet deur die ouer self in Kamer 20 afgehaal word.
(t) Ouers word gevra om nie tydens skoolure onnodig te pla nie. Indien ‘n leerder iets by die
huis vergeet het, kan ouers dit by die Algemene Kantoor ingee, waar die leerder dit tydens
pouse mag afhaal.
(u) Indien ‘n leerder siek voel, moet hy / sy na kamer 20 gaan. Indien nodig, sal ‘n
toestemmingsbrief, geteken deur een van die adjunkhoofde, aan die leerder
gegee word om in die siekekamer te gaan lê. Die ouers sal laat weet word om hom / haar
te kom haal, indien nodig. Geen leerder mag sy /haar ouers self bel om hom / haar
te kom haal nie.
(v) Indien ‘n leerder nie aan liggaamlike oefening mag deelneem nie, moet ‘n brief van
sy / haar ouers gebring word.
(w) KLEURTOEKENNINGS WORD SLEGS VANAF GRAAD 9 GEDRA.
EREKLEURE WORD SLEGS VANAF GRAAD 10 GEDRA.
(x) Geen leerder mag van een sportsoort na ‘n ander gedurende die seisoen skuif nie, tensy
toestemming deur die Adjunkhoof belas met sport sy/haar toestemming gegee het.
(y) n Bestuurspan-/VLR-lid, wat ‘n ernstige oortreding begaan, sal voor die dissiplinêre
komitee verskyn. Dit kan tot die opskorting van die Bestuurspan-/VLR-amp lei.
(z) Indien ‘n leerder in ‘n leiersposisie ‘n ernstige oortreding begaan,
leiersposisie geskors word of dit
VEREISTES OM VERKIES TE WORD AS LID VAN BESTUURSPAN
Die skool se Bestuurspan word vroeg in die derde kwartaal verkies. Dit is en bly vir ons
leerders ‘n groot eer en voorreg om deel van die span te wees.
Ouers en leerders moet kennis neem van die vereistes wat gestel word om verkies te word:
(a) ‘n Leerder moet ‘n lojaliteitsbalkie verdien het.
(b) ‘n Leerder mag nie meer as 50 strafpunte teen sy/haar naam hê nie.
(c) Moet betrokke wees by skoolaktiwiteite vandat hy/sy ‘n leerder in skool is en moet ten
minste aan een buite-muurse aktiwiteit deelneem.
(d) Alhoewel ons besef dat leerders nog op pad is na volwassenheid en nie altyd
verantwoordelik optree nie, is daar sekere oortredings wat in die graad 11 of 12 jaar
begaan kan word, wat tot ‘n diskwalifikasie, sal lei.
* Skuldig aan diefstal.
* Skuldig aan rook op gronde of in skooldrag.
* Gebruik van alkoholiese drank op skoolterrein.
* Gebruik van dwelms.
* Skuldig aan oneerlikheid tydens ‘n toets of eksamen.
* Afwesigheid sonder toestemming (stokkiesdraai)
* Enige leerder wat skuldig bevind word aan ‘n Skedule 1 of Skedule 2 oortreding soos
uiteengesit in die SA Skolewet.
‘n Ondersoek sal in elk van bogenoemde gedoen word waartydens die feite deeglik in ag geneem sal word. Die hoof
AFWESIGHEID
(a) Indien ‘n leerder afwesig was, moet hy/sy onmiddellik nadat hy / sy terugkeer
skool toe, ‘n brief, wat persoonlik deur een van die ouers geskryf en geteken is,
by die voogonderwyser inhandig.
(b) Indien ‘n leerder tydens ‘n toets / eksamen / portefeulje / GTA afwesig is, moet
‘n mediese sertifikaat die dag wanneer hy/sy terugkom, ingehandig word.
Indien nie, sal `n nul toegeken word.
(c) Indien ‘n leerder afwesig is, is dit sy/haar eie verantwoordelikheid om die werk
in te haal.
(d) Indien ‘n leerder afwesig is, mag hy/sy nie daardie middag aan sport deelneem nie.
(e) Indien ‘n leerder laat by die skool opdaag, moet hy sy dagboek wys om by die hek
toegelaat te word.
IN DIE KLASKAMER
(a) Nadat die onderwyser die leerders in die klaskamer toegelaat het, moet die leerders
vinnig hul boeke uithaal. Elke leerder moet by sy/haar bank staan en wag totdat die
onderwyser hulle gegroet het en beveel het om te gaan sit.
(b) Wanneer ‘n volwassene ‘n klas binnestap, moet alle leerders opstaan, die
besoeker groet en eers op sy/haar bevel mag hulle weer gaan sit.
(c) Absolute stilte moet in die klaskamer heers terwyl ‘n besoeker teenwoordig is.
(d) As die besoeker uitstap, hoef die leerders nie weer op te staan nie.
(e) In buitengewone omstandighede kan dit gebeur dat ‘n onderwyser vir ‘n rukkie
die klas moet verlaat. Die VLR-lid, wat dan vir dissipline verantwoordelik is,
moet toesien dat die klas voortgaan asof die onderwyser daar is.
(f) Leerders wat hulle nie kan gedra nie, moet gerapporteer word.
(g) Swak gedrag en kru taalgebruik word nie toegelaat nie.
(h) Behalwe in uitsonderlike gevalle, mag die klaskamers nie verlaat word
gedurende periodes nie. Indien dit wel gebeur, moet die leerder sy/haar
dagboek, waarin die onderwyser sy / haar toestemming aangeteken het,
by hom/haar dra.
(i) Elke leerder is verantwoordelik vir die bank waarby hy / sy sit en moet sorg dat
die bank te alle tye netjies en skoon is.
(j) Banke mag nie bekrap word nie.

(o) Wanneer die klok vir die einde van ‘n periode lui, sal die onderwyser die leerders
beveel om te staan, hulle vra om seker te maak dat hulle stoele, tafels en die vloer
skoon is, die stoele en tafels in posisie skuif en hulle groet. Dan moet die leerders
netjies en ordelik die klas verlaat.
(p) Aan die einde van die skooldag sal daar met gebed afgesluit word.
(q) Personeel is Maandagmiddae tot 15:00 vir hulp beskikbaar.
TYDENS KLASWISSELING
(a) Leerders moet aan die linkerkant van die stoepe en gange stap tot by hul
volgende lokale.
(b) Niemand mag op die stoepe en in gange hardloop nie.
(c) Indien die onderwyser nie binne 5 minute by die klas opdaag nie, moet die
VLR-lid die onderwyser gaan soek, en as die onderwyser nie gekry word nie,
dadelik by die adjunkhoof aanmeld.
(d) Leerders mag nie tydens periodes geld inbetaal, buskaartjies koop of by die
masjiene eetgoed koop nie.
(e) Leerders moet binne 6 minute by die volgende klas wees.
IN DIE KLEEDKAMERS
Kleedkamers moet te alle tye netjies gehou word.
OP DIE TERREIN
(a) Geen leerders word tydens pouse op die eerste vloer toegelaat nie.
(b) Leerders mag nie tydens pouse tussen of agter die boonste, tydelike klaskamers
wees nie.
(c) Niemand word in die voorportaal van die skool toegelaat nie. Dit is nie ‘n
deurgang vir leerders nie.
(d) Alle vullis, rommel en lekkergoedpapiere moet in die vullishouers en asblikke
gegooi word.
(e) Geen leerders mag die skoolterrein gedurende skoolure verlaat sonder ‘n brief
van Kamer 20 nie.
(f) Geen kougom word ooit op die skoolterrein toegelaat nie, selfs nie met
na-uurse bedrywighede of as skoolklere gedra word nie.
(g) Alle sporttoerusting moet te alle tye in ‘n sak of sluitkassie wees.
(h) Alle leerders wat die skool tydens die eksamen besoek, moet skooldrag aanhê. Geen
civvies word toegelaat nie.
(i) Die volgende areas is verbode tydens pouse:
- Verby die atletiekbaan.
- Netbal / Tennisbane
- Langs die heining agter die A-hokkieveld.
- Langs die heining voor die skool.
- Agter of tussen die tydelike klasse.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Learners wearing the incorrect school uniform and without a school diary may be asked to leave the school premises. Repeated offence of the code of conduct can lead to a direct disciplinary hearing.
A. DRESS AND PERSONAL APPEARANCE
- Winter uniform : 1 May - 31 August
- Learners and their clothing must be clean and neat at all times.
- No learners may leave the school premises unless they are correctly dressed, either in
their uniforms or sportswear.
- The school uniform must be worn at all school functions, unless otherwise specified by
the principal
- School rules apply at all school functions, as well as after school when the learners
are still dressed in uniform.
- If the learners do not look neat, we reserve the right to alter any school rule as
deemed necessary.
- A supporter shirt with a royal blue lace shirt and long dark blue denim with shoes
may be worn on days indicated by principal. No sandals allowed.
NO BLAZERS, JACKETS OR
No item of clothing on which the school badge or school colours appear, may be sold or given to any other person (except relatives, other full-time learners or the school’s swop shop). Our uniform and colours are our pride, and they may not land in the wrong hands.
BOYS
1 Shirt :
(a) White short-sleeved shirt with the school badge, with or without a school tie.
(b) Standard white long-sleeved shirt with collar, with a school tie and a blazer.
(c) If a short-sleeved shirt is worn under a blazer, a tie must be worn.
(d) No shirts may hang out.
(e) A white T-shirt with no printing may be worn under a school shirt.
2 Tie :
(a) The prescribed striped tie is compulsory for all learners.
(b) From Grade 9 only those learners who have received colours may wear the blue tie.
3 Pants :
(a) Standard grey shorts. (Do not cut off long trousers.)
(b) If preferred, long grey trousers of which the bottom of the legs are at least 40 cm in
circumference, may be worn.
(c) Only a black belt with a small black buckle must be worn. No ornamental belts or buckles.
(d) Boxer shorts may not be visible.
(e) Pants have to be tied with a belt above the hips.
4 Shoes :
(a) Only Black leather shoes. (no suede shoes allowed)
(b) No fashion shoes are permitted, ex platform and pointed shoes.
(c) No takkies/sneakers/trainers allowed.
(d) Slip ons must have a visible heel, no wedge heels allowed.
5 Socks :
(a) Long grey school socks are worn with the shorts.
(b) With trousers, only grey school socks may be worn. No white or any other coloured socks
are permitted.

(a) A school pullover must be worn with the white short-sleeved shirt, with or without a tie.
(b) The long-sleeved school jersey must be worn with a tie and blazer.
No sleeves may be pushed up.
If a jersey is worn on its own, it will be confiscated.
7 Blazer :
(a) Except for the management team the wearing of a blazer during the summer months is not
compulsory.
(b) The school badge on the blazer pocket is compulsory.
(c) When a blazer is worn, a tie must be worn.
(d) A special white blazer may be worn on Fridays and on special occasions by the head boy/
girl and learners who have achieved national colours for school activities.
(e) No pin-on badges, other than those permitted by the school, may be worn. Learners who
have received provincial colours may wear such a badge only with permission. This badge
must be earned.
8 Sportswear :
(a) Athletics: Full track suit after participation.
Netball & Hockey: Full track suit/school uniform after participation.
Cricket: School blazer with cricket uniform after participation.
(b) Only approved first team blazers may be worn on Fridays during the season.
Special sport ties may only be worn on Fridays during the season.
(c) Matches during the week: Learners change after school.
HAIR
(a) No “steps” or definite line is permitted.
(b) No “undercuts” are permitted.
(c) No less than a No 2 blade may be used to shave the hair.
(d) When the hair is pulled straight it may not hang over the eyebrows or the ears.
(e) “Sidies” may not be longer than the middle of the ear.
(f) Hair may not be “jelled” or “moussed” back to conceal too long hair.
(g) Hair may not be dyed – no “highlights” or “low-lights”. If this is done, hair must
be shaved with a No. 2 blade and be kept that way until it is according to the
rules.
(h) No hair extensions may be worn.
(i) No “dreadlocks”, “pineapple ponies”, “spikes”, “plaits” or any other style, which causes the
hair to stand up unnaturally, and / or appear long, is permitted.
(j) “Spikes” may not be longer than 3cm. “Plaits” may not have a tail.
(k) No hair clips allowed.
(l) No “Mohawk”/ Mullet allowed.
(m) No “patterns” may be cut into hair.
(n) No extreme hairstyles permitted.
(o) Hair not allowed to touch the collar.
GENERAL
(a) Nails must be kept short, neat and clean.
(b) Only wrist watches (of any kind) may be worn. No other jewellery may ever be worn, even
on civviedays, during exams or at school functions.
(c) Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
(d) All boys are to be shaved. No beards or moustaches are allowed.
(e) No piercings on the face for any jewellery (including tongue rings) are permitted.
(f) No ear rings, tongue rings or nose rings may be worn.
(g) No tattoos are permitted, and if you have, it has to be covered.
(h) No make up / hair clips allowed.
(i) No cross dressing is allowed whatsoever.
SCHOOL CASES
(a) Traditional cases are recommended – fashion bags and cases are undesirable.
(b) Cases must be large enough to fit the necessary books required for the day.
(c) Cases must have re-enforcing to offer protection for books.
(d) Graffiti and stickers are not permitted on cases.
GIRLS
1 Dress :
(a) Royal blue school dress.
(b) Length of dress: 15cm from floor when in a kneeling position.
(c) The dress may not be made narrower.
(d) No safety pins or belts may be used to shorten the dress.
(e) Skirts are not allowed.
2 Blouse :
(a) Short-sleeved, open-neck white blouse.
(b) Standard white long-sleeved shirt with a tie and black ballet tights must be worn with a
blazer.
(c) Shirts must be tucked in.
(d) The school shirt may not be worn over the dress.
3 Tie :
(a) The regulation striped tie is compulsory for all learners.
(b) From Grade 9 only learners who have received colours may wear the plain blue tie.
4 Pants :
(a) Standard grey long trousers. No hipsters allowed.
(b) If trousers are worn, a school pullover must be worn AT ALL TIMES.
(c) Only standard grey socks are to be worn with the trousers.
(d) No belt may be worn.
5 Shoes :
(a) Only Black lace-ups, buckle shoes or “Baby Dolls”.
(b) No fashion shoes ex. ballet shoes/pumps are permitted.
(c) Only the school shoe style of health shoes may be worn.
6 Hosiery :
(a) With the dress, short white socks which must be folded over.
(Not rolled Down or pulled up).
(b) When a girl wears black ballet tights a tie and blazer must be worn.
When a girl wears black ballet tights, she may not wear a short sleaved shirt.
No black tights may be worn during the summer season.
No ordinary pantyhose or stockings may be worn with the dress.
(c) With the trousers, standard grey socks – not white or any other colour.
7 Blazer :
(a) It is compulsory for the management team to wear blazers on a Friday.
(b) The school badge on the pocket is compulsory.
(c) On Fridays and special occasions the chairpersons of the management team, LRC, and
learners who have received their national colours for school activities, may wear a special
white blazer.
(d) No other pin-on badges, besides the school badges may be worn. Learners who have
received provincial or national colours may wear such a badge only with permission. This
badge must be earned.

must be tied up. (No “bird’s-nests”).
(d) Fringes may not hang in the eyes.
(e) If a fringe is being grown, it must be pinned out of the face.
(f) Hair accessories may only be in school colours (head bands excluded - only royal blue).
(g) Hair may not be coloured, tinted or bleached – no “high-lights” or “low-lights. If it does
happen, hair must be tinted back to original colour.
(h) Extension pieces, of the same colour as the hair, are acceptable. However, the same rules
apply as for long hair.
(i) No “dreadlocks” or “pineapple ponies” are permitted. “Spikes’ may not be longer than
3cm.
(j) Hair should be tied out of the face.
NAILS
(a) Nails may not be visible when viewed from the palm-side.
(b) Colourless nail varnish is permitted (“pearly” varnish is not permitted).
(c) Members of the management team have the authority to instruct a learner to cut her
nails and to remove any coloured nail varnish.
(d) “Gel”, “tips”: and “French manicure” are not permitted.
MAKE-UP
NO make-up is permitted with school uniform.
Make-up will be removed by the learner in the presence of a staff member.
NO PERMANENT MAKE-UP IS PERMITTED.
NO COLOURED / SHINY LIP ICE IS PERMITTED.
NO tattoos allowed, and if you have, it has to be covered.
NO false eye lashes.
JEWELLERY
1. Rings :
Only ONE signet ring is permitted.
2. Earrings :
(a) Only ONE pair of identical earrings is permitted.
(b) The earrings must be worn in the middle of the fleshy portion of the earlobe.
(c) Only plain studs (the kind used for piercing - no round ball type) without
stones are permitted.
(d) Smooth “sleepers” without ornamentation, are to be 13mm in diameter
(standard size). No wide “sleepers” may be worn.
3. Watches :
Only standard wristwatches.
4. No other jewelery such as necklaces, bracelets, leather bands etc.
are permitted.
5. No piercing on the face for any jewelery (including tongue rings) are permitted.
6. CIVVIE DAYS :
(a) No see through clothes.
(b) No spaghetti strap tops.
(c) No open & bare tummies.
(d) No bare backs.
(e) No short mini skirts/shorts.
ONLY ENGLISH AND AFRIKAANS ARE ALLOWED AS LANGUAGES FOR
COMMUNICATION AT SCHOOL.
B. GENERAL BEHAVIOUR
THE CODE OF CONDUCT ALREADY SERVES AS A WARNING, THEREFORE
DEMERITS MAY BE DEDUCTED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. CODE OF
CONDUCT AND PENALTY SYSTEM ALSO APPLIES DURING
SCHOOL AND ALL PUBLIC FUNCTIONS
(a) Learners are expected to be loyal and must attend all school functions.
(b) Learners must be courteous towards all visitors to the school.
(c) Learners must not be guilty of any misconduct on or outside of the school premises.
(d) Buses, public places and school premises must always be left clean & tidy.
(e) Earrings and all other jewelery are always forbidden for the boys.
GENERAL
(a) Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or any form thereof and pornographic material are strictly
prohibited for all learners and visitors to the school.
If cigarettes, or even a cigarette lighter, is found in the possession of any learners, it will be
regarded as though the learner smokes.
If any learner is caught with any of the above-mentioned in his/her possession,
disciplinary action will be taken.
To use any of the above outside school hours, in school uniform, is also an offence.
(b) No physical contact in the form of hugging, holding hands, necking, kissing, etc.
is permitted between learners during school hours or at any time in public while
dressed in school uniform.
(c) No crude language will be tolerated.
(d) The boys are not to stand or walk with their hands in their pockets.
(e) Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
(f) Teachers and the Management Team are to be treated with due respect.
(g) No racist, or hurtful remarks, grievious bodily harm, fighting, intimidation, threats
(physical or verbal) are to be made towards any staff member or other learners.
(h) Cellular phones/MP3/MP4/IPOD/electronic apparatus may not be visible on the school
ground except during break and after school. All phones are to be switched off and
packed away during class.
Learners not abiding by this rule will have their cellphones confiscated and
locked away in the safe for 3 weeks. Learners who are guilty of repeated offences
will be deprived of this privilege.
(i) No electronic toys are permitted at school. No software/games may be copied on
to school computers.
(j) No pets are to be brought to school.
(k) Hitch-hiking by learners in school uniform is strictly forbidden.
(l) Only learners with valid licences and parking discs are allowed to park in the enclosure
and the gate in
to park outside the school premises.
(m) No learner may ride any form of bicycle or motorbike on the school premises.
(n) No bicycle or motorbike may be ridden in
(o) Bicycles as well as motorbikes are to be locked in the bike shed and must be removed
directly after school.
(p) Parents are requested not to drop or pick up learners on the premises or in the
entrance of the main gate.
(q) If a learner has to see either the principal or one of the deputy-principals,
he / she may do so only during breaks.
(r) If a learner is late in arriving at school, he / she should then go to Room 20 where he/she
will inform Mrs du Preez that they are at school.
(s) If a learner needs to leave the premises early, a written request from one of the parents
must be handed in at Room 20. We discourage doctors’ and dentists’ appointments during
school hours. For security purposes parents have to fetch learners from Room 20.
(t) Parents are kindly requested not to cause unnecessary inconvenience during school hours.
If a learner has forgotten something at home, a parent may hand it in at the General
Office where the learner may collect it during break.
(u) If a learner feels unwell he/she must go to Room 20. If necessary, a letter of permission
signed in Room 20 will be given to the learner to allow him /her to lie in the sickroom.
Parents will be notified if it should become necessary to fetch the learner. No learner
may phone his/her parent to be fetched from school.
(v) If a learner may not participate in any physical activities, a letter stating such must be
written by one of the parents.
(w) COLOURS MAY ONLY BE WORN FROM GRADE 9.
HONOURS MAY ONLY BE WORN FROM GRADE 10.
(x) No learner is allowed to move from one sport code to another during the season without
the permission of the deputy head master in charge of sport.
(y) If a management/LRC member is guilty of a serious transgression, he/she will be dealt
with by the disciplinary committee. This may lead to suspension of membership from the
management team/LRC.
(z) If a learner in a leadership position commits a serious offence, his/her leadership position
may be suspended or reserved.
CRITERIA TO BE CHOSEN AS MEMBER OF THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Management Team is chosen early in the third term. It remains a privelege and honour for our learners to be a member of it.
These are the criteria that a learner must meet to be eligible:
(a) The learner must have earned a loyalty scroll.
(b) The learner may not have more than 50 demerits on record.
(c) A learner must participate in school activities since enrollment at school and take part in at
least one extra mural activity.
(d) We realize that learners are still in the process of maturing and do not always act
responsibly. However, there are certain transgressions that can lead to immediate
disqualification of a learner - if they are committed during the Gr 11 or 12 year. This also
applies to learners who are members of the Management Team:
* Guilty of theft.
* Guilty of smoking, either in uniform or on school grounds.
* The use of alcoholic beverages on school grounds.
* The use of drugs.
* Guilty of dishonesty during test or exam.
* Absent without permission (bunking).
* Any learner guilty of a Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 transgression as contained in the SA
Schools’ Law.
A thorough investigation will be launched in each of the afore-mentioned instances during which all the facts will be considered. The headmaster may use her discretion if necessary.
ABSENCE
(a) When a learner has been absent, he/she is to hand in a letter written personally by one of
the parents, to the register teacher.
(b) If a learner is absent during a test/exam/portfolio, a doctor’s certificate is to be handed in
on the day of return. If not so, a zero will be allocated.
(c) If a learner is absent, it is his/her responsibility to catch up on all the work.
(d) If a learner is absent, he/she may not take part in sport that afternoon.
(e) If a learner arrives late, he/she has to show his/her diary to be allowed on the school
premises.
IN THE CLASSROOM
(a) After the teacher has allowed the learners to enter the classroom, they must take out their
books and remain standing next to their desks. Only when the teacher has greeted them
and given permission to be seated may the learners sit down.
(b) When an adult enters a classroom, all the learners must rise and greet the visitor, and only
at his/her instruction may they be seated again.
(c) There is to be silence in the classroom while the visitor is present.
(d) When the visitor leaves the learners need not rise again.
(e) If, due to unforeseen circumstance, a teacher is forced to leave the classroom, the LRC
member will be held responsible for the behaviour of the class. The LRC member must see
to it that the learners continue with their work as though the teacher is still present.
(f) Learners who misbehave must be reported.
(g) Bad behaviour and crude language will not be tolerated.
(h) Only in exceptional cases will a learner be allowed to leave the classroom during a period.
When permitted by the teacher to do so, the learner is to have his/her diary with
him/her with the teacher’s signature of permission.
(i) Each learner is responsible for the desk at which he/she sits, and must see to it that the
desk is kept tidy and clean at all times.
(j) No scribbling on desks is permitted.
(k) Graffiti and stickers are not allowed on cases.
(l) There is to be no eating in classes.
(m) No chewing gum is permitted.
(n) There is a wastepaper basket in each classroom into which all scrap papers and other
rubbish must be thrown.
(p) When the bell rings at the end of a period the teacher will command the class to stand, to
see that the desks and floor are clean, and the desk and chairs are in the proper positions.
After the learners have been greeted, they are to leave the class in an orderly fashion.
(p) Each day will be ended in prayer.
(q) Teachers will be available till 15:00 every Monday afternoon for extra help.
DURING CHANGING OF CLASSES
(a) Pupils must walk on the left-hand side of the corridors until they reach their next
classroom.
(b) No learner is permitted to run in the passages.
(c) If a teacher has not arrived within 5 minutes after the bell has rung, the LRC member is to
locate the teacher and receive further instructions. If the LRC member is unable to locate
the teacher, one of the deputy principals must be consulted.
(d) Learners may not pay in money, buy bus tickets, make phone calls or buy from the vending
machines during periods.
(e) Learners must be in the next class within 6 minutes.
IN THE CLOAKROOMS
Cloakrooms are to be left in a clean and tidy condition.
ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS
(a) No learners are permitted on the first floor of the building during break.
(b) Learners are not permitted to be between the top prefab buildings during break.
(c) No learners are permitted in the foyer. It is not a throughway for learners.
(d) All rubbish, waste paper and sweet wrappings must be deposited in the rubbish bins.
(e) No learner is to leave the premises during school hours without a letter of permission from
Room 20.
(f) No chewing gum is ever permitted on the premises, or at any time while a learner is in
school uniform.
(g) All sport equipment have to be in a bag/ locker at all times.
(h) All learners visiting or attending school during exams, must wear the proper school
uniform. No civvies allowed.
(i) The following areas are out of bounds during break:
- Past the athletic track.
- Netball / Tennis courts.
- Down the fence behind the A Hockey field.
- Down the fence in front of the school.
- Behind or in between the “prefabs“.
Persistent transgression of the code of conduct may lead to expulsion.
